All are welcome.

14-15 Jul (Sat-Sun): 8th Mid-Year Bird Census
for NSS members only

Happily, we are into the eighth year of this census of Singapore’s wild bird population. Unlike the other single-day censuses, this census has been extended to two days to allow birdwatchers to cover their backyards, neighbourhood parks and home patches. The ever-changing landscape and deterioration and clearance of bird habitats are all cause for concern. Such censuses have helped us to formulate conservation proposals and provide hard data to substantiate them. Helpers are needed for site counts, which will be led by an experienced bird-watcher. If you can help, please let us know which day you are available or, better still, if you can make it for both days. Contact coordinator Lim Kim Seng at denislim@starhub.net.sg before 1 July 2007.

Time: The census happens from 7.30am to 10.30am..
