7-9 Mar: A 3-Day Intensive hands-on Workshop using the AtKisson Sustainability Accelerator Toolkit for Planning and Assessment

This 3-day workshop equips participants with the methods and tools to plan, organise and implement sustainable environmental programmes/initiatives to bring about greater environmental impact in the workplace or a target audience they wish to influence. It also places emphasis on engaging and managing partners and stakeholders more effectively. This workshop introduces the Atkission Sustainability Accelerator Toolkit which is designed by AtKisson Southeast Asia (www.AtKisson.com).

Main Bridge10 Mar (Sat): Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve free guided walk

You'll see the fabulous plants and animals of the mangroves and freshwater wetlands. Besides the abundant bird life, there is also other fascinating wildlife in the Reserve. more

PrawnWatch 9.30am: Get a hands-on introduction to traditional prawn farming and learn about the importance of mangroves.

Time: 9.30 am and 3.30pm for walk in guests, register at the Visitor Centre. Those coming with large groups are advised to pre-register.
Tour duration: one to one and a half hours. Easy trails, some suitable for young children.
Entry charges: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen.

accessible to all10 Mar (Sat): Botanic Gardens Rainforest Trail free guided walk

A fabulously easy introduction to a rainforest with tall trees and other mysterious plants! Right in the heart of the city, within minutes of Orchard Road, this is the oldest remnant of rainforest in Singapore! more

Time: 9am, 10am, 11am, 4pm; Register 15 minutes before the tour at the Visitor Centre.
Tour duration: one hour. Suitable for young children.
A special Mandarin version of this tour is at 4pm.

11 Mar (Sun): Pasir Ris Mangrove Boardwalk
with Shawn Lum and the Plant Group

for NSS members only

The Pasir Ris mangroves are an old and favourite haunt of the NSS Plant Group. Although the new boardwalk extension has been open a while now, this will be our first exploration of this lovely area as a group. We will get reacquainted with the Pasir Ris mangroves, test our mangrove plant identification skills, and chat about mangrove ecology and conservation. Pasir Ris Park is a vast space worth exploring. For the adventurous coming along, a post-walk field trip may be a fun follow-up.

Time: 9.30am. Meet at at the Pasir Ris MRT Station. (If driving, meet at Carpark C, Pasir Ris Park at 9.45am.)

Photo Number 311 Mar (Sun): MacRitchie Prunus Trail free guided walk

You'll see breath-taking views of the reservoir and surrounding forests and learn more about the freshwater and land wildlife and plants there. This stroll on the boardwalk is suitable for young children. more

Time: 9.25am. Meet at entrance of the trail, about 50m after the canoe kiosk on the eastern side of MacRitchie Reservoir Park.
Tour duration: about one hour.
To join the guided tour, you will need to pre-book.
