Lazarus Island
15 minutes by fast boat from the city centre, this reef was affected by the closure of the channel between St. John's and Lazarus Islands. The rich reef flat still has a variety of hard and soft corals. There is also a sandy shore with Common sea stars (not so common anymore on our shores) and other interesting marine life. Lazarus Island is currently not accessible to the public, but if it was, it's broad reef flats and sandy shores would be easily explored by non-divers.

Diving Lazarus Island
Jani's the Blue Tempeh blog has photos and stories about a dive at Lazarus with a set of flicker photos of the dive there.
