29 Jul (Sat): Pulau Ubin Evening Walk with Grant Pereira

Grant Pereira and the Green Volunteers Network. The walk should take about 2 hours and limited to 20 participants, first come first served. Pre-registration required.

29 Jul (Sat): Cooking Class in a Kampong House on Pulau Ubin

Learn how to prepare Nasi Kerabu. We wil go harvest the jungle herbs for the cooking. This is a hands on cooking class. You will also be served Lontong upon arrival.

Main Bridge29 Jul (Sat): Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve free guided walk

You'll see the fabulous plants and animals of the mangroves and freshwater wetlands. Besides the abundant bird life, there is also other fascinating wildlife in the Reserve. more

9am: Marine Fish Tour, a 30-minute tour introducing the fascinating fishes of Buloh.

Time: 9am, 10am, 3pm, 4pm, for walk in guests, register at the Visitor Centre. Those coming with large groups are advised to pre-register.
Tour duration: one to one and a half hours. Easy trails, some suitable for young children.
Entry charges: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen.

30 Jul (Sun): MacRitchie-Bukit Timah Fundraising hike for iGAP

Let the fund raising team of iGAP show you the nature trail hike from MacRitchie Reservoir to Bukit Timah Natural Reserve. This is to raise funds for their upcoming projects (see below). Along the way, you can enjoy the nature (trees, monkeys, squirrels and tortoises included), beautiful scenery and see things tucked in the forest which you would never imagine.

iGAP (inter-Generational Affinity Project) is made up of a group of volunteers who are dedicated to bridging the gap between the elderly and the youth through meaningful interaction. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organisation under the flagship of SIF (Singapore International Foundation). Goals for 2006: To promote interaction and understanding between the elderly and youth participants; and to promote volunteerism among youths.


Time: 8am sharp
