Are you curious about the names of some of the plants found in Bukit Timah's Hindhede Nature Park? Here's a chance to help you learn at least 8 native plant species in a fun way! Form a team of 3-5 members and join us in the Native Plant Hunt! The free plant hunts will be held on Saturdays: 26 Jun, 24 Jul, 28 Aug, 30 Oct, 4 Dec.

The plant hunts are organised by NParks. The free plant hunts are conducted by the Building and Environment Green Volunteers from Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Engineering.

Registration for the free plant hunt is limited to maximum of 10 people per registrant. The plant hunt is available and chargeable for organised groups (minimum 20 participants) on other dates. At least 1 month's notice is needed to book for this specially arranged plant hunt.

26 Jun (Sat): Kids’ Fun with Nature at the Forest
Time: 3pm. Meet at the car park of the Lower Peirce Reservoir Park, off Old Upper Thomson Road.

By the Nature Society (Singapore) Education Group. Let’s learn more about our forest and forest dwellers today! We will take an easy walk along the Lower Peirce Trail where we will see lovely forest trees and catch glimpses of dragonflies and damselflies along the water’s edge. If we look carefully, we may even spot some fish in the water! Hopefully, we will also spy a monkey, squirrel and some birds. Bring along a pencil and your nature journal. Wear light cotton long pants and tee, good walking shoes, and bring lots of water to drink. Also pack a snack for a picnic at the park later on. A nominal fee of $5 (members) or $10 (non-members) per kid will be collected on the spot.

By Willie Foo. This neighbourhood park just across from the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve attracts many exercise enthusiasts in the morning. A good place for watching birds like woodpeckers, sunbirds, tit-babblers, flowerpeckers and drongos. A reliable place also to view introduced species like the Lineated Barbet and the White-crested Laughingthrush. The endangered Straw-headed Bulbul is also putting up well here.
