The site is set
up for a layman introduction to our more common marine life.
It also hopes to help nature guides in their work, with a special
section for nature guides.
This site is an 'upgrade' of the Chek Jawa online guide that was launched
in 2003 to support the Chek Jawa guidebook. That online guide was
set up to include all the information and photos that could not fit
into the guidebook.
Since then, I have been visiting many other other shores and have
been amazed by the rich shorelife. In preparation for a broader guidebook
to all our shores, I have set up the new Wild FactSheets online guide
to showcase Singapore's shorelife. It is a work in progress and pages
will be continuously added and updated.
The focus is on marinelife on the intertidal. But hopefully, as I
have more time and information, I hope to add factsheets about our
other wild stuff, subtidal and terrestrial.
