The photos would
not have been possible without FINDING the subjects in the first place.
The keen eyes and extrasensory perception of a unique bunch of hunter-seekers
made many of these finds possible. Among them are many members of
the wildfilms team and
beachfleas
and teamseagrass.
It is not possible to list every person who found every special thing,
but I would especially like to thank these intrepid hunters:
- Toh Chay
Hoon: the Supreme Seeker for Astounding Finds Big and Small (especially
Very Small)
- Alvin Lee:
Notices Nudis like No other
- Ang Yu Chen:
He who started it all, and who still goes to all lengths to find
stuff.
- Loh Kok Sheng:
Who inspires me with his zeal in studying our shores.
- Marcus Ng:
Who not only finds great stuff but also takes fabulous photos
and shares them freely, AND gets them identified too.
- James Koh:
Who takes the best photos of our marine life, especially the tiny
ones.
The website
has been improved tremendously by the many contributions of photos,
video clips, sightings and stories by many people, each acknowledged
accordingly on the relevant pages. But I would like to especially
thank the following for their prolific contributions.
This website
would not have been possible without the patient help of scientists,
experts and naturalists who took the time to identify and explain
things to me so I could put them up on the website. Many others
also gave much encouragement. Any errors or omissions, however,
remain entirely mine.
Among them I would especially like to thank:
- Dr Daphne
Fautin
- Dr Dan Rittchoff
- Dr David

The trips would
not have been possible without the able and friendly support of
the many boat operators that we have disturbed in the wee hours
of the morning. The following in particular made it possible for
us to explore some spectacular shores
- Mr Chua of
Ubin
- The Chua
brothers of Marina South Pier
- Melvin and
the crew of Dolphin
- Rick and
the crew of the Rising Tide
- Alex and
the crew of Summit Marine
Many of the
trips were made with TeamSeagrass
which is funded and supported by NParks'
National Biodiversity Centre with the companionable and invaluable
support of Lim Wei Ling, Yang Shufen, Siti Maryam Yaakub and their
bosses and colleagues.
Others who made the trips possible include
- Mr Goh Soon
Huat of Sentosa Development
Corporation who always kindly supported our applications to
visit the shores
managed by Sentosa.
- Ubin NParks
who kindly support applications to visit Chek Jawa and Pulau Sekudu
for documentation purposes.
- Dr Tan Swee
Hee of the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum who allow us
to be involved in many scientific field trips.
The website
would not exist without the very kind and able support of Archer
Logic, especially Isaac and Jodie and her team.
Countless others have encouraged me and contributed to this effort.
Thank you everyone!
