21 Jun (Sat): Birdwalk at Pulau Ubin
Time: 7.30am sharp at Changi Point Jetty

Joan Low and her keen bird watching friends of the Green Volunteer Network will bring you on a bird walk at Pulau Ubin. As places are limited, please confirm only if you can be at Changi Jetty at 7.30am. Binoculars would be helpful. More details about Ubin.

21 Jun (Sat): Forum on the URA Master Plan 2003
by the NSS Conservation Committee

Place: Geylang East Community Library, Auditorium, 3rd floor
Time: 2.00-4.30pm.

This forum by the Nature Society (Singapore) is a follow-up to the forum on the Parks and Waterbodies Plan held last year. The objective is to obtain feedback from the public on the new URA Master Plan for land-use that is currently underway and that will be completed by the middle of 2003. We need your suggestions and help for courses of action to save these sites as well as ideas for a more ecological green plan.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Time: 9am, 10am, 3pm, 4pm

You'll see the fabulous plants and animals of the mangroves and freshwater wetlands. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Usual entry charges apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child /student/senior citizen. More details

22 Jun (Sun): Free guided walk of
Nee Soon Freshwater Swamp
Time: 8.30am-about noon.

Joseph Lai is conducting this for the earth-worms group as part of long-term studies to monitor the remaining population of the Banded Leaf Monkeys in Nee Soon Freshwater Swamp. The Banded Leaf Monkeys have long been considered a sub-species of the ones found in Malaysia, and they are only found in Singapore. Meet at Casuarina Drive, Thomson Road near the prata shops.
