Where
seen? This moderately large flatworm that looks like a starry night sky is sometimes seen, usually in numbers, and then not again for a while.
Near living reefs on some of our Southern shores.
Features: 4-8cm long. Usually with deep ruffles. Body pale brown to black with white speckles and dots forming clusters of various sizes.
A raised dark centre,
sometimes with a white speckles and spots forming a white line. On the margin it has an interrupted, narrow white rim formed by white spots. The underside is light greyish-brown with white dots. It has a
pair of pseudotentacles that are simple and made up of
folded edges of the body, with white tips. |
