people: Low Kok Leong
Here is more about Kok Leong in his own words ... How did you first get involved in working for nature in Singapore? I met Victor Ow (fellow volunteer) through diving in Tioman. He is a volunteer guide in Chek Jawa and I was invited to Pulau Ubin. What do you get out of working for nature? I got to know lots of nice people who care about the nature. I may have missed seeing what the nature has to offer during my grandparent's or my parent's youth but I do hope to present what we can still see/find to our next generation. What is your approach/personal motto in your work? Do not take things for granted, for what you see today may no longer be here tomorrow. What are some of your current projects? I am currently a guide for Chek Jawa and am learning more every day about what it has. We are also documenting on animals/living things on our shores to create awareness about our beautiful shorelines and what they have to offer. Kok Leong is 28, his day job is as a freight operations co-ordinator and he currently volunteers as a guide at Chek Jawa and in the wildsingapore wildfilms project. More on how YOU can make a difference too... |
