Online 5 Dec 05 A pet haven for East Coast Park? Letter from Jessica Chan When the Government wanted to revamp East Coast Park and asked the public for their opinion, I envision a dog haven. Here in Singapore, weekends are set aside for family outings and activities. My family, which includes an infant and two dogs, go to the dog run in Katong every weekend. There, one can find many other families who are also dog lovers. It is a day I will not miss unless it rains. . But I've always felt that something is missing. Wouldn't it be better if we have dog cafes, petshops, a place for dog shows, dog obedience classes, petcare workshops and, of course, a huge dog park by the beach? It will be the first in the world to have all such pet amenities close together. It will definitely promote family togetherness and community bonding. links Related articles on Recreation in our wild places |
