Plan for shower facilities at MacRitchie

 I THANK Mr Shaun Ho Pan-Wei for his letter, 'No bathing facilities' (ST, Nov 28).

Mr Ho's observation is valid. With more people using the MacRitchie Reservoir Park after the addition of the reservoir boardwalk and the introduction of water sports at the reservoir, the washing taps at two locations for public use at MacRitchie Reservoir Park may not always be adequate.

PUB has plans to upgrade the park and introduce shower facilities. It earlier displayed the MacRitchie Masterplan publicly and sought feedback on it.

Having more activities at reservoirs is part of PUB's initiative to encourage Singaporeans to get closer to water and to enjoy the recreational opportunities it offers.

As the national water agency, PUB hopes that in the process more people will appreciate our reservoirs and waterways and do their part to keep the waters clean.
