Let S'pore gain some tax revenue

I READ the recent letters regarding whether Singapore should have a casino with great interest. To compare the situation here with Melbourne is simply not correct. Singaporeans love to gamble, and many go to Australia, Genting and other places. So, why not let Singapore gain some of that tax revenue we are obviously missing out on? I disagree when people say a casino will bring social problems. They are already here, hidden under the surface. The gamblers are on the other side of the border, losing their money as we speak. If Singapore goes ahead with a casino, I hope some of the revenue raised is set aside to increase social welfare to families affected by gambling.
